God Is For Today

GIFT, which stands for 'God is For Today' (a name chosen by the youngsters themselves several years ago) is the Stourdene Benefice Youth Group.

Who can build the highest structure

It currently meets every fortnight on a Tuesday evening during term time from 7pm-8.30pm in Ettington Church.

The aim is not to force religion onto the children, rather to give them a safe and fun environment in which to express themselves and explore their faith.

GIFT is open to young people from Year 6 onwards and we have no top age limit. We currently have around 20 youngsters in regular attendance and it is usual to divide them up into groups within the sessions, dependant on age and other criteria to suit particular activities.

The youngsters are supplied with complimentary refreshments but there is also a Tuck Shop available where they have the chance to purchase Traidcraft snacks. As well as drama, games, quizzes, arts & craft activities and general discussion, we also fundraise within the Stourdene Benefice and some of the older members of GIFT are responsible for some of the organisational aspects of the group.

If you think your son/daughter would like to come along and see what happens at youth group then do contact one of the leaders who will be happy to organise this.
